Tara gave us such an uplifting talk today at our retreat. I often feel helpless when helping myself but Tara gave me tangible tools to use for self care and stress management. More than anything I have read about in any self help book. She cut right to it and I know that if I ever need help she would be someone that I could turn to for help and support.
I was fortunate enough to attend a retreat this weekend where Dr. May was giving a class. I was not expecting the gift I would receive…hope. Grief can be a dark tunnel from which you feel there is no escape… some people can hold the light to help you find your way. She a different approach from what I’ve experienced to date. Dr. May made me feel that healing from tragedy is possible, it takes work but it’s possible. I am grateful to have attended her class.
Tara is a terrifically engaging educator. I was privileged to have her come and lead a class for my third-year lactation students about supporting parents through perinatal loss and infant death. It was incredibly heartfelt and moving- while remaining relatable and engaging- no small feat!
On top of achievable and sustainable tools my students can now apply in their future work as lactation consultants, Tara sensed a need at the end of class for an emotional space-holding ceremony. It was truly beautiful how she lit a candle and cleared the room of the grief inherent with the topic she presented. I was so impressed how deftly she handled the emotional needs of a room full of people while simultaneously educating them to serve their communities.
The conference was awesome. Very beneficial. Definitely will help in building a foundation for our healing process. Thank you!
Dr. May — Thank you so much for offering this conference. I found you sharing your own story comforting and helpful and your practical steps for healing were very thoughtful. Thank you.
The content was great! I am grateful to have been on the call.
Very helpful. Provided some great strategies for creating a healing process to help overcome miscarriage loss.
Thank you for the wonderful phone seminar last night. It was extremely helpful. This will definitely help me in creating a solid foundation for my healing process. While it was very emotional I felt so lifted after the call. I think a big part in the healing process is knowing that you are not alone and like you said, that it is okay to grieve.
As a health care provider, I found the content valuable and helpful in being able to provide better support for women going through pregnancy loss.
Dr. May deeply understands the heartbreak of pregnancy loss and infant death because of her personal and professional experience. Her compassionate recommendations for coping give insight and hope for healing the sadness and pain.
